“The Hope of Christmas”

Read Isaiah 52:13–53:12

Discussion Questions

  • Why would God choose someone as undesirable as the Suffering Servant to accomplish God’s salvation?
  • Have you ever experienced such love that someone was willing to suffer and sacrifice on your behalf? How did that impact you?
  • How was your 2022? Has it been filled with ups and downs? Share how God brought you through it all.

For Advent this year, we’d like to share hope for a weary world through supporting Chelten’s food pantry, Seeds of Hope. At the welcome center you’ll find REVERSE Advent Calendars.

What makes it a REVERSE Advent Calendar? Well with THIS advent calendar you GIVE something each day, instead of getting something.

Each day in December, you’ll add an item from the list to a box. And then on Christmas Eve or Christmas morning you’ll bring the box to church and place it on the food pantry donation table located just inside the playground entrance.
This is a fun challenge to do yourself, or with your kids, neighbors, or community group—What a simple, yet powerful way to show the love of Jesus to our community!

We encourage you to pick up one of the advent calendars today!

Center for Biblical Transformation

Winter Semester
January 3–March 28, 2023

Enrich your knowledge of God and his Word! The Center for Biblical Transformation offers college-level courses designed to deepen your understanding of the Bible and Christian theology, help you be transformed into the image of Jesus Christ and prepare you to serve in his kingdom.

Join our four-course certificate program, or take any course at any time with no commitments. Courses are offered for ten weeks in the fall and in the winter.

The purpose of the program is to experience God’s truths personally and to share the message through your life to others. This is your opportunity to discover that living with Jesus involves learning his transforming truths and passing them on to others!  I invite you to prayerfully consider your involvement in the Center for Biblical Transformation.

by grace alone,
Dr. Bill Krewson
Senior Pastor of Discipleship
